July 29 - August 23, 2016 - Nashville TN, and Noahs Ark - Williamstown, KY

August 12 - 18, 2016

We visited a recreation of Noah's Ark near Williamstown, KY.  It opened on July 7th of this year.  The first 40 days and 40 nights they stayed open until midnight.  We were there on the 40th day, August 15, 2016.  It is the worlds largest wooden structure and Yes, it is massive.  They have 3 floors and will be finishing the 4th floor later on.  I recommend to stop and see it if you pass through Kentucky.  It is located right off of I75.  There is some open spaces that will be filled in later. They will be adding to the area in time.  I would definitely go back in a year or two and see what has been added.  We spent close to 3 hours in the Ark.  The pictures below are just samplings of what we seen.

NOTE: The ark pictures should have been after the Diamond Mine and Nashville below, but I couldn't get the organization right.  Windows10 is very stubborn!  Hence, part of the delay getting this posted.  I finally relented and will just post it even if its out of order.  Haha.

This is the door you see the ramp on the outside lead up to.  The animals entered through here.

I went back at night to take a couple pictures. This was the last evening it was to be open until midnight.  (40th night)

(BELOW, IS THE FIRST PART OF OUR TRIP.  COULDN'T GET THE ARK VISIT BE BELOW THESE...........)

We started our trip on the 29th of July and went to Holland, TX and met up with Tom, Guy and Missey so we could watch Guy race his 1939 Willie.  Had a fun weekend and another new experience!

We headed to the Crator of Diamonds in Arkansas  for a few days. It was very hot so could only go in the morning and late evening.  No such luck in finding diamonds though.   I dug, I scraped, I walked around looking for the glisten and no such luck.  Must be my eyesight!  Lol.    Dennis only went one evening, got overheated, and we ended up in the Emergency room in Nashville, Arkansas.  All ended up being ok though, but needed to check him out.  Anyway, I have pictures on my phone of the race and the Crator of Diamonds, but with Windows 10, I haven't been able to download them.  Works different now, have to download software, etc.??  So until I figure it out......

Then it was on to Nashville, TN.  We stayed at a Corp of Engineer campground,  Seven Points, SE of Nashville.  Our lot was across from the lake.  Beautiful campgrounds for $11 night with the Access card.  Had 50 amp and water, long lots, and lots of trees, but no direct sewer hookup.  They did have a dump though.    Below are the pictures taken in Nashville.  Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry in some cases.  Hmmm, I guess I'm not good at taking pictures or could it be my camera. haha
