June 21st - Breaking down is so much fun......haha

We left McConnell AFB, KS to head further north.  However, we got to Saline, KS and the battery light intermittently came on along with the RPMs dropping to 0.  We decided to stay where we were (at a Flying J Truck Stop) rather than go on and end up along side the road broke down.  There was a Kenworth truck shop across the street so decided to bring the coach to them the next morning.

Long story short, it was the alternator that was going out.  They found one in North Carolina and had it shipped overnight.  Ended up being the wrong one as it would not charge both battery banks (House and coach batteries).  So they finally had the original alternator rebuilt, but they didn't know how to wire it back in.  Went through a menagerie of   problems before Dennis contacted Monaco for the exact schematic for the wiring and Viola!, it worked.  Had they done that to begin with, we would have been on the road within a day or so.  However.....5 days later we start heading to Rapid City, SD.

On our trip thru the endless miles of prairie lands of Nebraska (does anyone live here?), we came across a cattle drive.  Several Cowboys were herding the cattle but didn't get a good picture of them.  Also had trucks and 4-wheelers trying to keep the cattle of the highway.
